How We Harvest Our Honey
At Benicia Honey Co., our honey is carefully harvested by hand from hives right here in Benicia. We use traditional, humane beekeeping practices that prioritize the health and sustainability of our colonies.
Once capped honeycomb frames are ready, we extract the honey using a cold centrifuge method — no heat, no filtering, no shortcuts. This preserves all the natural enzymes, pollen, and nutrients that make raw honey so beneficial.
Each jar is poured and labeled in small batches, ensuring you're getting a truly local, unprocessed product from your own backyard. Whether you're buying it at a market or from our porch pickup, our honey reflects the blooms, bees, and care that went into every drop.
Swarm Removal
Found a cluster of bees on your tree, fence, or porch? Don’t panic — it’s likely a swarm, and it’s a natural part of the bees’ life cycle.
At Benicia Honey Co., we provide safe, humane swarm removal for residents of Benicia and surrounding areas. We carefully collect the swarm by hand and rehome it in one of our apiaries, where the bees can continue their important work — pollinating local plants and producing honey.
We never use chemicals or harm the bees. Our goal is to keep both people and pollinators safe while supporting a healthy ecosystem right here at home.
